Sugar frills and sugar blossoms wedding cake

I couldn't be more excited to share with you today's wedding cake, inspired by our clients's bridal gown and bouquet!
This cake marks the beginning of the wedding season and of my busiest month of the year:)
The bride is a dear friend from my days working as a Senior Designer in the world of Architecture. She is also a fellow South American, from Argentina!
I love guiding my clients to the selection of their dream wedding cake flavors...my goal is that the cake is even MORE delicious than good-looking! 
Claudia chose thin layers of my best selling toasted almonds cake with alternated layers of with dulce de leche and discs of baked french meringue...I will beg the photographer to take a pic of this plated cake!!!
We iced this cake with our signature Italian Buttercream (Mousseline) and our custom made Rolled Chocolate.
The color of the sugar flowers is inspired by the pretty palette of her floral arrangements, and the texture of her bridal gown.

Claudia's dress inspired the lines of if the cake. We were looking for a more contemporary look, so rather than simulating the routing of the fabric, we applied paper thin ruffles that were layered diagonally.

Marti's Floral Design. Bride's bouquet
A great wedding is only great if a fabulous team of vendor's is bring on board. Marti's Floral design killed it with the most stunning bouquet possible. We connected to coordinate the color of the natural blooms and our custom made sugar flowers.
The super talented Jeff Thomas catered this event, and we already know that the food must have been delish!

Sugar Realm, hand crafted sugar blossoms. These flowers were made with our custom made gum paste. Here you can see the flower center that support the petals. The center was made by bending a #20 green flower wire to create a small hook. The hook was moistened with egg whites. A small gum paste ball was inserted to the opposite side of the wire and move up until it is inserted on the hook. Be careful not to have egg white oozing out or color won't stick to the paste. It may be a good idea to make the centers with green gum paste, if that is the final look you desire.

Sugar Realm - Hand crafted sugar blossoms made ahead of time and intended to be preserved. The base of the flowers was dry brushed with green petal dust to simulate stamens. These flowers were accentuated with gold paint to achieve a more modern look!
