To celebrate Lissa and Jay's union, we freshly baked layers of Almond, Pistachio and Honey, and French Vanilla, Raspberry and white Chocolate. Iced in our custom made rolled chocolate and painted with edible gold, this cake pays homage to Lissa's Egyptian Heritage! The beautiful pics you see above, were captured by the talented Amanda Donaho Photography, who posted on their blog the following "During his toast, Jay's best man said when he first heard about Lissa from Jay he described her as an Egyptian Goddess. And every Egyptian Goddess deserves a wedding cake like this one. Blown away by the talent Ileana at Sugar Realm - Fine Bakery + Confectioners Design has!" We were also blown away by her talent and sweet personality! As you may imagine, we were not short of inspiration while designing this cake. Our client played an important role in guiding us to chose special egyptian symbols to be included in this cake. All sugar decorations were intended to be preserved, and I personally removed them fro the cake after the cutting ceremony was over! They will live for ever on a beautiful shadow box displayed on a very special place:) Lisa's parents were one of the sweetest clients we have ever had. He'd dad -a photography aficionado- shared images of Lotus flowers that he had captured in one of their trips o Egypt. We couldn't resist the temptation to include our own sugar Lotus flowers, intended to be preserved as a special memento of this memorable day! This cake was filled with personal touches for the client! The top tier had the representation of Lissa and Jay's names written in "Cartouche's"...and because Jay is a proud Indiana University grad...Lissa couldn't resist the temptation to have the IU logo incorporated into the design! |
