Today we celebrated Sushma and Tushar’s union with the most sophisticated cake. A design inspired by South Asian jewelry and fashion. To celebrate this memorable day, we freshly baked tiers of Orange sponge, paired with white chocolate and orange blossom mousseline, and French vanilla sponge paired with raspberry and vanilla bean mousseline. Iced with our signature rolled chocolate, and decorated with our own handcrafted sugar flowers 🌸 A cake to match the splendor of the South Asian culture and the creative tased of the designs of Wedding InStyle by SIma Patel. As we are about to kick off the wedding season, I would like to share the news that our family is leaving Cincinnati this summer to relocate to Philadelphia. Cincinnati has been our home for the past 17 years. This was the place were our kids were born and the city that fully embraced my Sugar kingdom. We are excited for the future and optimistic that the City of Brotherly Love will bring as much happiness to each member of the family and to this small business of mine, as Cinci did. With tremendous gratitude, I say farewell to my beloved Queen City, and to its warm and special people! We will be saying goodbye with a bang, as we have lined up spectacular designs for spectacular clients! We will leave town in July, and our last order is scheduled for early June. "The first time I laid eyes on The Estate at Sunset Farm it had my mind racing with ideas of grandeur. Drawing upon inspiration from Old Hollywood Glamour, I set off to design an event that elicited feelings of a sophisticated 1950s dinner party. Rich hues of plum and hunter green accented by delicate touches of gold provide a lavish feel. A bouquet filled with lush florals dripping with colors of maroon, plum, and violet pops against the Bride’s ivory off the shoulder fitted trumpet dress. The addition of emerald and gold accessories combined with a faux fur stole and silk opera gloves provides the finishing touches to this glamorous bridal look. The towering purple and gold wedding cake is a true show stopper with its mixture of marbling texture and delicate flowers. Beautiful vintage furnishings and truly gush-worthy hand torn paper goods complete the look for an overall wedding inspiration shoot oozing with touches of refined beauty. My favorite part of this job is to meet with new clients and share with them the excitement about their wedding. I love hearing and seeing their vision for this memorable day. The architect in me loves the challenge of designing something unique, absolutely tailored for a specific event. I find it so rewarding when our cakes feel like they "belong", and that it couldn't be displayed anywhere else, because a part of the story would be missing. Today's wedding cake was basically an interpretation in sugar and chocolate of Mindy's vision for her wedding. I LOVE the color palette that she chose: fresh and stylished, absolutely glamorous and perfect for the time of the year!
