![]() The Architect in me is always inspired by the beautiful architecture of our local venues. The majestic elegance of the Art Museum in Cincinnati inspired this beautiful wedding cake design. Ivory, Gold and Black accents adorned the gorgeous wedding of Colleen and Stephen...everything was so classy and elegant, yet modern and "couture". It is so charming to be on a museum after hours, it feels like the building has a live of itself, and it feels so tranquil and serene...perfect for a wedding ceremony and reception! Colleen and Steven chose a wedding cake design that felt modern and chic, with tone of sugar flowers that were intended to be preserved! The most delicious Almond Sponge, paired with a French Vanilla-Almond Mousseline, with a touch of Almond Crunch was freshly baked to celebrate this memorable day!!! Marti's Floral Designs created the most gorgeous blossoms and the uberly talented Goodwin Lighting provided the perfect lighting for this event. I can hardly wait to see pics form JMM Photography Thank you Colleen and Stephen for allowing us to have a small role in your memorable day!!!! And thank you to the always courteous staff of theCincinnati Art Museum, you are the best!!! I hardly ever get to set my clients on the day of their weddings. Our cake delivery is scheduled in the middle of the day, when most of them are still getting ready. But on events were a "room flip" is required, I not only see my clients and enjoy their reaction to seeing their cake for the first time, but most of the times, I watch their wedding ceremony! Even after all these years making wedding cakes, I still get watery eyes while seeing my clients say their vows. I'm a true believer in marriage, and in the commitment that it represents. Marriage is a living thing, that requires daily attention...just like a plant. Making sugar flowers is an act of love, they are very time consuming...they take forever to complete, and I very much enjoy every minute of it!
I deliver special boxes to the venue and coordinate with the staff the safe removal of the flowers from the cake. They are intended to be preserved indefinitely (without any refrigeration) as a sweet memento of such special night. |
