Today we are basking on the amazing event that Gigi & Chip's wedding was.
This spectacular night was conceived by the creative genius of Dora Manuel, owner of Viva Bella Events, and the unique vision of the bride and groom!
For this special night, we created our tallest cake to date, with 9 tiers and 400 Servings of the most delicious cake!
To celebrate their union, Gigi & Chip chose our three most favorite cake combinations:
Almond Sponge paired with Pistachio and Honey Mousseline. Almond Sponge paired with Hazelnut Mousseline and a line layer of Belgian Chocolate Ganache, and French Vanilla Sponge, paired with Raspberry and White Chocolate Mousse,
Our cakes are always iced with the most delicious Rolled chocolate, not fondant. It is more work, and an additional cost...and SO worth it, because it's taste is that of a delicious chocolate bar:)
Viva bella events brought together the most amazing team of vendors...and we were honored to be among them:)
Brideface, Studio Z Films, Marti's Floral Designs, Kortnee Kate Photography, All Occasions Rentals, Jeff Thomas, Catering, Douglas Djtoad Scholten, Giddy Ink, Endless Summer Band.... just to name a few!
The set up for our cake couldn't have been better. Viva Bella along with All Occasions Rentals designed the most amazing tent. This was a Black and White Themed event, and every single detail of the night was tasteful and jaw dropping!
Our cake set up was to say the least, "adventurous"!!!
Many, many hours of planning allowed us to execute our delivery and set up of the cake without any problem, and we feel so blessed for that!
Our custom design had many of the elements and "feel" of the night...sleek and modern, edgy and non-conventional!
We created antiqued vines of black roses that climbed up the cake, connecting the two clusters of sugar flowers.
During our design presentation, we shared with Gigi and Chip samples of our sugar flowers, and Gigi was so impressed!...while contemplating our blossoms, Gigi said "I wish my grandma was here with us, because she would have loved seeing this; she was a botanist!". After that reaction, we felt obligated to deliver for their cake only our best!
This cake included our best and most artistic black and white fantasy roses, peonies, parrot tulips, berries, anemones, leaves and blossoms of all sorts!
Gigi and Chip are kind of "Harley Davidson" type of people, VERY cool and unconventional!
We were thrilled to add a touch of that to the cake, as a personal message to them...
Our on-site services were part of this red carpet event, and we personally removed and collected all the sugar flowers from the cake, and beautifully arranged them on three separate boxes to be presented to Gigi, her mother and mother-in-law.
it is so special to know that they will preserve them as a memento of such special night!!!!
One of our favorite touches of the night, was the "wine lady" on her cool red tricycle!...a hit for sure among the guests!!!
These quick shots that we were able to snap in a quick minute, don't really capture the magnificence of the night. It is going to be tough to wait until professional pics from the super talented Kortnee Kate are ready!
Behind the Scenes...Delivery and Set up of a 9-Tier Cake!
Friends and family are always intrigued about the logistics of a cake like this...below are a few pics that illustrate our delivery process.
Our cakes arrive to the venue in our amazing cake boxes, usually broken down in tiered sections...they keep our cakes safe and contained at all times, and give us a tremendous peace of mind!
An emergency kit and additional sugar pieces are always part of the delivery equipment!
We stack our cakes using a Stress-Free professional cake stacking system. A flat metal ring that is super sturdy and with only 4 pegs that are screwed to the ring. Venues and Staff love the ease and speed of dissembling our cakes!...no dowels to fish, and the most delicious cakes that plate BEAUTIFULLY!
A super tall cake like this always have a central structure, made of a wooden dowel. It provided stability to the cake, and is of great assistance in the transportation of the cake to and from the cake table!
